Ubuntu Edge is scheduled for release this 1st August as confirmed by Canonical that has finally announced the launch date. However, there are a few pictures of the handset unveiled prior release displaying a couple of hardware functions along with the final appearance of the Ubuntu Edge Phone.
It is not new for Canonical to use teasers for its products and now the Ubuntu.com website has officially posted a teaser to keep the users interested in this upcoming release.
The online community is also assuming the teaser could be related to a tablet but a few leaked images quickly negate this assumption as what appeared to be a tablet in the teaser is actually a Smartphone in the images leaked. Whether the images actually refer to the new Ubuntu Edge Phone still is not confirmed and will remain a mystery till the Smartphone is officially released but the source of these images claimed to have gotten them from an unprotected directory on the official website.
It is important to note here, the images shown are not taken of the Smartphone in fact they are rendered pictures of what the final product will look like. No brand from any third party is visible and we also see the Ubuntu logo at the back side of the handset.
If the given images are correct, the Ubuntu Edge phone houses a front and rear camera as well as a few basic buttons. Refer to the images given to have a good look at what the Smartphone might actually look like.
